Island Peak Mountaineering
Island Peak is surrounded by two beautiful glaciers, Lhotse and Lhotse Shar and below it lies the settlement of Chhukung of the native Sherpas. Island Peak is technically not so difficult, climbers with just intermediate level mountaineering skills can successfully make it to the summit following the instructions from our professional guide. It is an ideal Peak for a first taste of real mountaineering in the Himalayas.
You should ensure you are in good health, physical fit and have proper acclimatisation before going high up in the mountainous region. Our itinerary has been planned in such a way that you can have plenty of time to explore the beautiful valley while acclimatizing at the same time. You will even get a chance to visit the famous Everest base camp. In addition to the alpine adventures, this adventure also offers a good chance to peek into the life of the legendary Sherpas, who are renowned for their bravery and unique ability to survive in the extreme conditions as well as their centuries old culture and traditions.

The trips on this site have been listed as they are the most popular within the
associated regions. If you have heard of a trip that is not listed, or want to spend
less (or more) time in a particular area then let us know.
-
Although detailed itineraries are provided for all of the trips on this site they
are by no means set in stone. The itineraries act as a rough guide so you are welcome
to walk a bit more or less on any day you choose.
-
You are also welcome to extend the trip at any point if you would like to spend
a bit more time in a particular area. The cost for extension is around £15-£25 per
day depending on the particular area and nature of the trip. Unfortunately, we are
unable to refund a trip that has been shortened but you are welcome to let us know
before hand and the price will be reduced accordingly. The extra days can always
be spent sightseeing in Kathmandu or Pokhara with your guide.
-
Similarly, if you would prefer to upgrade or downgrade your hotel or transport then
this is also possible. For example you may change a bus journey to a flight, or
stay in a cheaper hotel to save some cash. Extra cost will apply based on the price
difference. All of this is can be arranged upon your arrival in Nepal or if you
would like to arrange it before then just let us know.
-
If, at the end of the trip, you would like to do another adventure then all you
have to do is arrange it with the guides in Nepal.
